Here are two different directions to Clear Creek:
We made our own route to Clear Creek, though it may be a bit farther,
it relies mostly on freeway driving. The directions from the
ranger's office are shorter, but the road is more windy. You can
make your choice, it makes little difference. I may suggest the
official directions through Hollister for those with smaller rigs or a
penchant for tight roads and passing slow pokes. If I had a big
rig, I'd roll down the 101 to King City.
To enter the park through the "front", or the King City Side, through Hollister
- From San Jose, take the US-101 South to the CA-25 towards Hollister.
- Continue on CA-25 through Hollister, and head south about 35 miles.
- Turn Left on Coalinga Road, follow it to the left turn-off for Clear Creek Management Area, it will be obvious (~14 miles)
To enter the park through the "front", or the King City side, through King City
-
Take I-101 to King City, exit Broadway (G13)
-
Go east on Broadway until it dead ends into 1st St
-
Follow the road as it bends to the right, it will turn into Bitterwater Road
-
Follow Bitterwater Road until it dead ends at Hwy 25 (about 10 miles)
-
Left on Hwy 25, go just a couple miles to Coalinga Rd
-
Go right on Coalinga Road, follow it to the left turn-off for Clear Creek Management Area, it will be obvious (~14 miles)
