Directions to Stonyford
These directions are from I-5. To get to I-5 from the bay area, take I-80E to I-505 to I-5 N.
- Take I-5 North to Maxwell, Exit Maxwell Rd. go left, back over the freeway.
- Continue West on Maxwell Rd, it turns into Maxwell-Sites Rd at the tracks (go 9.5 miles)
- You will arrive in the little town of Sites, then go right on Sites-Lodoga Rd (go 13.9 miles)
- You will arrive in the little town of Lodoga, then go right on Ladoga-Stonyford Rd (go 7.7 miles)
- You will arrive at the town of Stonyford at an intersection.
There will be a little market/gas station. This is the last
place to get any supplies.
- Go left at the intersection, and two blocks up you will see Fouts Springs Rd
- Go left on Fouts Springs rd, and you will be in the OHV park area.
- Continue until you reach the desired camp ground.
Davis Flats is about 7-8 miles in. If we camp at the
beautiful Mill Valley, this is almost 20 miles in on Fouts Springs Rd.
Worth the extra effort to get out there. The drive will
take you from the barren, rocky east side of Stonyford (Davis Flats) to
the lush, wooded, evergreen west side, where, by the way, the riding
and scenery is much better, and there's the beautiful Letts Lake for
the non-riders to go frolic in.
